End of the sem break

1 week semester break has come to an end. What have I done for this whole week???

A recap:
► Monday - dance practice
► Tuesday - Happy Merdeka day!!! went shopping in 1u
► Wednesday - dance from morning to evening. then went shopping in Sunway Pyramid @@ till 10pm *i didn't buy anything from all the shopping trips. instead of girls buying stuff, guys ended up taking more time to buy things. Guys, don't complain if u have to wait so long for girls to buy shoes or clothes, coz u also take as much time as we do =P
► Thursday - early morning picked up friends in Sunway then Puchong and head to Putrajaya for photoshoot. will post up some pictures once I've done editing them.
► Friday - dance practice again....and VUBC meeting in the evening.

Yesterday was the start of my so call semester break "holiday". My holidays are not really holidays where you can stay home and slack or even not think of any work. This kind of holiday is the time you should catch up on your previous work when we were not listening in class, start on assignments and this time I have to go back to uni every single day for VU Night preparations. Before i get stuck in my holiday loophole, right after my last class ended I had plans to start off my holiday.

After my scheduled duty, met up with Mark in Sunway for the very 1st time for lunch in medan. The usual catching up and reminiscing topics came up...Then, later I went to pyramid to watch Step up 3 in 2d with Joseph, Su Yen, Doyang, Kah Kar and her fren.

I watched it in 2d, didn't think 3d would be worth for a dance movie. All the dance battle was really really really good from the start to the end. Songs were awesome, dance moves were superb and the cast was prefect. Everything fits nice and well. For me, I felt it was the best Step up compared to the past. Its gets better every time.

Videos below are some clips from the movie. its really that amazing n especially the final dance. WOW! its a must watch for dance fanatic ppl. I don't know how good will the 3d be. do tell me if 3d is equally good as what i saw in 2d.





Bread Factory Visit

14 Aug 2010, Saturday
Leo Club of Southern Cross did a visitation to High 5 bread factory in Shah Alam. We brought along orphanage kids from the Kepong Orphanage home. Picked them up and took a long drive to the factory. Just when we arrived the place, there was a bunch of kindergarten children coming out from the building. There were many school buses around cause many school kids were having their field trip that day also. So anyways, out of the bunch of children that just finished their visit there, something really coincidental and unexpected meeting happened. I spotted my cousin, her husband and their daughter, Ashley who was having her kindergarten trip there. Both of us were like damn surprise to see each other in a really unexpected place at that time. Like yeah how often do u meet your relative at the same place and same time unplanned.

So about High 5 Bread Town. I paid RM15 for entrance fee and so begins the tour. Started off with some videos about the bread history then they brought us into a "museum" with those moving mannequins showing the ancient ways of making bread and other utensils they used. Then we got to a walk-way where we can observe the bread making factory from high above (pics below). That's basically the whole trip there and at the end of everything u get a goodies bag filled with their products of course.

Does Friday the 13th superstition still exist??? 
Its actually a very back dated belief with ancient history origins. These are some weblinks that may or may not be helpful to explain why Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day.
FYI Friday the 13th is 'the most widespread superstition'!!!

Every Fridays I only have 1 hour lecture from 9.30-10.30am. Then usually after that I just hang around in college to kill time since I drove all the way to Sunway and paid RM1.60. So last week I brought Macrel to college and this is what we played.

Then in the evening, I drove Joseph and Su Yen to 1 Utama, met up with 4J's (Jonas, Jayden, Jin, 'Jazman') and watch Avatar: The last airbender. Unexpectedly bumped into Sing Ru n Mindy (pre-u friends) who were going to watch the same movie also.

Terrible casting. Calling an Indian guy, Zhao is so inappropriate. Too much taichi movement n average action effects only.

Most of time throughout the movie we were laughing instead of being awed by the story.











After the movie, as usual everyone will go out and walk this walkway back to the mall. So along the way I was talking something about the movie to my friends, out of a sudden *very random* a girl in front of me (who were with 2 other friends) turn back to me and agreed to whateva I said just now. She thought I was her other group of friends that came with them. She got so embarrassed, apologized and explained that she thought I was one of her friend. It was so funny that everyone got shocked this random thing happened and started laughing so hard and I mean a DAMN LOUD LAUGH.
Then we went dinner at New York Deli and that wraps for the day outing.

Uni has started this week. at last i have Fridays free from class =D
its only the first week and i feel miserable without my dearest friends =(
noise has reduced, gossip turned down, everything has been minimized....even lunch hour doesn't seem so fun now
the people that I don't want to see are amazingly still here, whereas my loved ones are at somewhere else T.T

nevertheless i should be strong and continue my path. Plus i even try to apply for VUBC to be an extra dedicated VU-ian hahaha
fingers crossed X, hope i make it in ;)

28 Jan, Thurs

2nd last day of my work. Had lunch at Obrien's sandwich for a colleague farewell, spent like rm20+ just for a sandwich lunch @@

after work, went to KLCC (which is just down the road from my office) to meet up with regina, ruiyi, and weng tjun. main plan to go there is to use the clinique RM30 voucher which will expire on 31st Jan. so me n ruiyi each bought a lipgloss which cost RM66, had to pay RM36 for it. the beautician there was really nice, she helped me n ruiyi put on some makeup ^^
*sry weng tjun, u had to wait so long hahaha

went to San Francisco steakhouse for dinner. @@ my god the price of a steak there can kill you before u even eat it + the serving portion was kinda small for a hefty price. so i just had the chicken breast dish which still cost me about RM30+.

ended up my whole day spending more than what i earn per day.
finished the night by having a tour drive around KL city center (thank god the jam wasn't so bad in the late night)

Clinique Sweet 17 Makeover Party

23rd Jan, Sat


Okaysss me not being a teen anymore, I still attended the makeover party organized by 17 magazine together with Clinique. =P
It was held at Rootz Club at the Lot 10 rooftop. The whole event only cost RM60 and it was all worth it for the experience and goodie bag and also the lucky draw!!! wakakaka

First there was a short talk by the Clinique team about skincare products and makeup stuff. Then we were divided into groups to move into our allocated stations.
mine was : Clinique makeup station -> *Sze accessories -> **A Cut Above hair makeover -> Kukubar manicure

**had bits of finger food while waiting for my turn to do hair

the part where we had to do hair and nails took a long time....waited and waited but it gave me some time to chitchat with people and had small talk with 17 mag editor Aileen Soo =)

after the whole makeover thing was done, it was time lucky draw and this lucky draw is the best cause no one leave empty handed hahahaha. I won FreshKon cosmetic lens voucher worth up to rm350 whereby I can redeem a max of 5 boxes. this is another super contrary moment cause i never wear contact lens and i won contact lens =.= same goes to the job I got in Chanel.
well since its free no harm trying hahaha

later on there was a guy giving a talk about self defense against those snatch thieves and perverts...it was interesting but after awhile it got too draggy *yawns*. and lastly there was a dance performance by a girl dance group then at last it ended.

all in all, job well done to the 17 team! it was my 1st time attending a makeover party and it wasn't too bad. we had 2 goodie bags, 1 from 17 and 1 from Clinique.

21st Jan, Thurs

Had my birthday celebration with my uni frens at Fullhouse in Sunway Pyramid. Initially it was only jenny, sook kuan, seng chee, joseph, eric and wei hsien that could make it coz vincci and suyen told me they couldn't come =(

the nite before my bday i got a little suspicious when jenny accidentally slipped out wrong thing then she claim it was just a typo. ok nvm about it then...

when i got to the restaurant, our table had many extra seats and i was a bit puzzled...after a while OMG it was vincci and suyen entering the restaurant!!! u guys really surprised me hehehe =D I am really glad all of u could make it =) and u made me even happier that time haha

and there was one more surprise guest who turned out to be Jia Jun!!! I really didn't expect him to turn up and it was really great having everyone there =D *super big smile*
wahwahwah and another big WOW was when out of a sudden the waiter brought a cake over and everyone sang the song hahaha. I was veryveryvery shocked and happyyy to have all this.

after dinner, we went for late nite movie. of all the movies we watched Paranormal Activity at 10.45pm!!! zzzz i practically covered my face through out the whole movie.... i hate watching thriller/horror movie especially at night and in the theater @@

but to sum it all up, it was the most exciting, happiest and memorable birthday =)

sudden reflection

its now the 2nd week of 2010 and it hit my mind.
Whats in store this year ahead? How about the future? Did I enjoy my past? Will I regret the things that I've done? Should I have taken the other path instead of this? Was it a right choice?

I have never hesitated much over the decisions I've made. Till now, I had time to think over it. I never doubt anything that I plunged into whether it is getting an education, making friends, going somewhere, or taking up a job. So far everything seems to be aye-okay! well maybe about 75% of it. I always have faith, confidence and believe in everything that I do. as they say " the power is in your hands". WAIT A MINUTE....maybe that phrase was in some telco advert hahaha

After all this, I should not turn back and must keep moving ahead. Problems that i've encountered and experiences will only help me be stronger, braver and grow in person. and one thing I heard from a TV show, "being single is a sign of strength, despite feeling lonely".
"pats back* I've gotta be THE strongest person so far hahahaha. having great friends and my chi-muis fills up the emptiest in my life.

I'm probably saying this too early but what the heck, 2009 WAS THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE! (could 2010 top it?)
Truly thankful for the friends i've made and especially grateful for the time with my "superiors" (don't know how to address her) in Chanel for the guidance and advise, and colleagues that I became closer with. It has been a stepping stone working there (should do wonders for my CV =P) and turning 20 soon...haiz...feeling the crunch of aging LOLs
